Habitat preference and activity pattern of wels catfish (Silurus glanis) at its northernmost distribution area

Hello, my name is Niklas, welcome to my webpage where you can learn all about my Master project!

The species is threatened in Sweden, and conservation strategies have unfortunately been difficult to implement as little is known about its ecology. To explore the behaviour of this freshwater giant, and to improve conservation strategies, I used a telemetry system to track ten adult wels catfish during a year in a swedish lake.

In my project, I investigated habitat preferences, activity patterns and site fidelity, by combining movement data from the telemetry system with environmental data.

I hope you will enjoy learning more about wels catfish, have fun!
