Conclusions
- Presence of lateralized behaviour at an individual level in some individuals with single motor patterns (side preference in some individuals, although not side specialization).
- Absence of lateralized behaviour at a population level (no task specialization or true handedness).
- Further research is needed in order to assess whether the lack of human-like handedness found in the present study is only specific to the studied population, a more general phenomenon of the genus Alouatta , or perhaps all the New World monkeys.
