Findings

The main findings of my study were that the meerkats prefers the animal matter, crickets got the highest score.   I could also see a strong positive correlation between the group preference list and protein content in the food items. Since the meerkats are carnivores this was expected. When comparing the individuals preference list with each other I can see that the oldest individual in the group has the most amount of correlations with here preference list to other individuals preference lists. This might imply that the meerkats has a observational learning about food preferences from older individuals to younger individuals. This has earlier been seen in wild populations.
