Curriculum Vitae and Presentation of Scientific Merits

Currently I am an Associate Professor (Universitet lector) at Linköping University, Linköping (Sweden). I have Ph.D. degree in Solid State Physics, highly motivated physicist with solid background in theoretical physics of condensed matter at normal and extreme conditions, and experienced in solid-state physics and chemistry. I gained experience of individual research as a guest researcher in the Institute of Physical and Inorganic, and Structural Chemistry, Stockholm University, Sweden (supervisors Dr. U. Häussermann and Prof. S. Lidin) as a PostDoc at Condensed Matter Theory Group, Uppsala University, Sweden (supervisor Prof. B. Johansson) for 2 years and Theory and Modeling group, Linköping University (supervisors Prof. S. I. Simak and Prof. I. A. Abrikosov) for 2 year. In accumulation I have 4 years of Post-Doctoral experience.

I have 25 papers in scientific journals with referee system and 10 high-profile publications among them (1 paper in Science Magazine, 6 papers in Physical Review Letters., 2 papers in high-profile chemical journals, 1 paper in section Rapid Communications of the Phys. Rev. B).

I have a 2 popular papers (1 of them for National Supercomputer Centre (NSC) News (Linköping)). In most my papers I am main responsible authors for the theoretical investigations. I participated in many conferences and workshops (2 invited talks).

I have experience in teaching (4 under-graduate courses in Quantum mechanics and Magnetism (108 academic hours) 2001-2002, 2 graduate courses in quantum mechanics at CECAM, France 2005-2006, 10 points), a graduate course in the electronic structure theory (7.5 points), Linköping University, Linköping, Sweden, 2009, co-supervising students and PhD students (see below).

I have been awarded with a gran t of HPC-EUROPA program to access the High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures (2007) and a grant within an Exchange Program from London Center for Nanotechnology, University College London, United Kingdom (2008).

I utilize collaboration with several experimental and theoretical research units in Sweden and abroad (European Union, Russia, and USA).

Total number of published papers during my academic career is 25 including accepted and 10 high profile publications among them (1 paper in Science Magazine, 6 papers in the Physical Review Letters, 1 paper in New Journal of Physics, 4 papers in the Phys. Rev. B, 2 papers in high-profile chemical journals, 8 papers in referred journals, 1 accepted paper). I have 2 popular papers (One of them is “Voyage to the Eart's Deep Interior”, published in National Supercomputer Centre (NSC) News (Linköping), issue 3, p.p. 3-5 (2008)).

E. CONFERENCES AND ACTIVITIES

Participated in more than a dozen international conferences with posters, and gave several talks (2 invited). I also gave a number of talks on seminars at Moscow State University of Technology (MISA) (Russia), Uppsala University (Sweden) , Czech Republic Acad. of Science (Czech Republic), Linkoping University (Sweden), and participated in a number of mini-workshops and seminars.

F. RESEARCH INTERESTS

Analysis of the structural behavior and phase transformations in solid materials. Development and application of Global Structural Optimization Algorithm (GSOA). Theoretical search (based on the analysis of electronic and phonon structure, molecular dynamics simulations, GSOA) for novel materials for experimental and industrial applications. Bonding description of solid state systems. Study and interpretation of high-pressure phase diagrams and phase transitions at various pressure and temperature conditions. Properties of Fe and Fe-based alloys under Eart's core conditions. Assistance to experiments in determination of accurate high-pressure phase diagrams of elements, alloys, and compounds.
