Laborationer
(Practicals)
1. NMR resonance assignments and structure calculations
Date: TBA
Time: 13.15-17.00
Location: Franklin (the computer lab in the C hallway of the B building)
Manual: See below. You should print it and bring it to class.
Lab report: Brief report that should be completed before you leave. The exam may include topics from the practical.
The aim of this practical is to provide training in working with multi-dimensional NMR spectra, assign resonances and to use the chemial shifts to calculate the structure of a protein. We will not be handling any chemicals or laboratory equipment so no sppecial clothing is required.

2. Protein crystallization
Date: TBA
Time: 13.15-17.00
Location: We gather at Franklin (the computer lab in the C hallway of the B building)
The aim of this practical is to learn how proteins are crystallized.

3. NMR spectroscopy
Date: TBA
Time: 13.15-15.00 (grp 1A, 2A ), 15.15-17.00 (grp 1B, 2B)
Location: Purcell (The NMR lab in the B hallway of the B building)
Manual: See below. You should print it and bring it to class.
Laborationsredovisning: The exam may include topics from the practical.
The aim is to get familiar with the NMR spectrometer, learn to set up experiments and to interpret results. We will not be handling any chemicals. However the the temperature in the NMR room is rather low so I recommend that you wear a long sleeved shirt or similar.
