Behavioral responses

The wolves interacted for a total of 441 times with the odorized logs regarding the four odor stimuli over the 20 days of observation combined. They displayed six of twelve described behaviors across the observation days (Table below).

Comparison between the four odor stimuli

The wolves showed significantly higher number of interactions toward wooden logs odorized with pig blood compared to the other three odor stimuli (fruity odor, meat odor component and solvent).

 

Variability across sessions

Total number of interactions displayed by the wolves for all four odor stimuli combined across the five sessions.
