Applied Nano Chemistry
One of the focuses of the research in inorganic chemistry has for more than ten years been applied nano chemistry, headed by Professor Per-Olov Käll, with a focus on colloidal and electrochemical synthesis and characterisation of
(i) semiconducting oxide nanoparticles, e.g. ZnO, CuO, RuO2 as sensing material in gas sensing studies involving gases such as O2, NOx, CO, H2 and MeOH
(ii) transitionmetal oxide nanoparticles for efficient hydrogenation of carbon dioxide
(iii) magnetic rare earth oxide nanoparticles for contrast enhancement in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
