Main interest
Develop and perform surface science related experiments. Main assignments at the present position are design, develop, and maintain a new vacuum system for arc-plasma coatings and other physical vapor deposition (PVD) techniques. Design and perform experiments related to arc-plasma coatings are also included. Examples of assignments at earlier positions were: design and perform studies of the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) at Pt(111) using synchrotron radiation based x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and K-edge x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), design an ambient pressure XPS system, and develop and perform O 1s XAS of liquid water and aqueous solutions. Have also developed an interest in electrocatalytical metal oxide coatings for electrochemistry applications. Have experience from synchrotron light facilities (MAX-lab, ALS, SSRL, SPring-8), ultra high vacuum (UHV) technologies, and electrochemical applications within large-scale production.
