Summary of Rositsa Yakimova's activities


Rositsa Yakimova is professor emerita in material science, Linköping University. She is an internationally recognized expert in the field of semiconductor crystal and nanostructure growth of SiC, AlN, ZnO and graphene. She has made a substantial contribution to the development of the sublimation growth process. Her major focus recently has been on epitaxial graphene on SiC.  Yakimova has pioneered a novel method for fabrication of large area uniform graphene and since 2008 she is leading the research of graphene on SiC at Linköping University. The high quality of this graphene has been evidenced by demonstrating quantum resistance standard of a superior precision [Nature Nanotechnology]. 

Yakimova is a co-founder and CEO of Graphensic AB, a spinoff company from Linköping University.

  • VR: Exploring substrate effects on the functionality of graphenePrincipal investigator (2012-2014)
  • EU Graphene Flagship: Epitaxial graphene on SiC, Task leader (2013-2016)
    From the start in October 2013 Graphene Flagship will coordinate 126 academic and industrial research groups in 17 European countries with an initial 30-month budget of 54 million euro. The activities are distributed among 15 work packages.
