Summary of Gholam Reza Yazdi's activities

Research

My PhD work was on growth and characterization of AlN bulk and nanowires on SiC by sublimation methods. As I had several years of experience by sublimation growth of AlN on SiC substrates, it was very beneficial to switch to graphene growth, using the same substrate and a similar sublimation process. From 2010 I started working on graphene, especially investigations of surface morphology and differences in graphene layer thickness and morphology on different SiC polytypes. Nowadays my research is focused on deep understanding and sufficient control of wrinkling of graphene, and to study the effects of ambient condition in epitaxial graphene grown on SiC. I am also developing etching on different SiC polytypes to improve the thickness uniformity of graphene layers grown on them.
