Ana Beatriz Chaar

Research interests

Titanium aluminium nitride (TiAlN) is at present one of the most attractive hard and wear resistant coatings within the cutting tool industry. Altering the coating microstructure, through a controlled coating process enables the design of both the coating physical properties and cutting performance. My research interest is to investigate the microstructure evolution, in special grain size and morphology, of TiAlN coatings deposited by cathodic arc evaporation.
