Internship in Ecology (NBID59)

The main aim with the course is that the student will acquire professional experiences from an organisation working with ecological applications and get hands-on experiences from working in the organisation. Another aim is that the professional placement should develop the student’s ability to take responsibility give experiences from organisations outside the university.

After the course the student should:

  • Have experiences from an organisation working with ecological applications
  • Be able to describe and reflect upon the organisation on the workplace placement
  • Be able to describe how cases are handled in the organisation, which steering documents that exists and understand how the economy affect the organisations operations
  • Get an insight in the demands that a biologist are faced with in his/hers professional role
  • Be able to apply ecological knowledge in workplace cases
  • Be able to plan, prioritise and independently evaluate and seek information that are needed to solve workplace cases
  • Be able to communicate scientific results according to a professional role both orally and in written text
