Emergence test

Kaplan-Meier survival analysis plot for variable “birds fully emerging” in emergence test between males and females ( * = p < 0.05).

No significant differences were found between treatment groups, but females emerged significantly more than males from the test box.

Social regrouping test

Bar chart of of pre and post stress scores in both treatments indicating that social regrouping affected many behaviors (* = p < 0.05).

No behavioral differences were found between treatment groups, although disrupting chickens' social dynamics by regrouping them affected many behaviors in both treatments as seen in the bar chart.

Bar chart on baseline (pre-stressor) behavioral responses when data was combined in the social regrouping test between males and females ( * = p < 0.05).

Many sex differences were found in behaviors before the social regrouping took place. Females were found to be more active significantly feeding, foraging and exploring more than males, while males significantly showed more relaxed behaviors as seen in the bar chart.

Novel object test

No significant differences were found between treatment groups in the latecny to peck the novel object or in behaviors performed. Sex differences were found in a couple of behaviors. Males significantly fed and foraged more than females ( p = 0), while femlaes behaved more vigilantly ( p = 0.002).
