I’m interested in effects of maternal stress during egg formation and incubation in precocial birds (Jungle fowls, domesticated chickens and Japanese quails).
My research is aimed at both exploring the effects of maternal stress on the offspring’s behaviour and physiology, but also to try and disentangle the underlying mechanism by analysing changes in the prenatal environment (the egg).
Recently I have started to incorporate postnatal stress into my research to investigate if there are differences in sensitivity to stress depending on when birds experience stress during postnatal growth (chick-phase vs. adolescences) and if postnatal stress interact with effects of maternal stress.
